Guarantee Home Safety Tips for Halloween

Many children look forward to Halloween-The one day they can dress up and collect as many candy & treats their hands will allow. At Guarantee, we want all of our neighborhoods to enjoy the festivities of Halloween, but we want to encourage safety as well. Below are three important safety tips to keep top of mind when handing out treats this year.

Use Lots of Lights and Avoid Using Candles
A dark home can tell people you’re not expecting visitors. It could also be an accident waiting to happen. Be sure to keep the pathway from the street to your door well-lit. A glowing jack-o’-lantern makes your home warm and welcoming to children, but using a candle to illuminate a pumpkin can be dangerous. Costumes and paper decoration are easily flammable, so instead of using a candle, use fun light-up decorations that are battery operated.

Keep Your Walkway Clear
The fall season produces lots of leaves. Remember to sweep away dirt, leaves, and branches from your driveway or sidewalk. Trick-or-treaters are usually too preoccupied by counting their candy to pay close attention to where they’re walking, so it’s important to inspect your yard for hazards. Be sure your yard and walkways are free of water hoses, sprinklers, and loose gravel. If your home has an irrigation system, turn the system off so your lawn and walkways have a chance to dry.

Use Your Garage
The night before Halloween can be full of mischief, and the night of Halloween can lead to a yard full of kids. If your car is left outside of the garage, it can be a target for pranks, accidental dents and scratches. Be sure to park your car inside of your garage. If you don’t have a garage, try to park your car in a place with low traffic.

Have a safe and fun Halloween from your friends at Guarantee Real Estate!

Stonebridge Community-A Stunning Gem

Written by: Diane Hill

Tucked away in Northwest Fresno is the special community of Stonebridge. There is something magical when you cross over the bridge and enter this beautiful village of 53 acres in a park like setting, with 10 lakes, and tennis courts.

Stonebridge is sought for its serene, secure, and friendly community atmosphere. It boasts “The Clubhouse”, a stunning gem on the water’s edge. As you stroll through the tree lined streets with the well kept homes and landscape, you are struck by the serenity of the village with its classic street lights and English titled streets.

Those who decide to make Stonebridge their home, are welcomed as residents of this lovely community and will enjoy the many frequent activities held in the Clubhouse.

The New BooBoo Bean Bakery at Bullard/West

Written by: Roxanne Rich

So have you heard? A new neighbor just moved into the Pavilion West Shopping Center! Her name is Jenny and she is the owner/baker of BooBoo Bean Bakery and Cafe.

BooBoo Bean Bakery and Cafe is locally owned and has that “small-town” charm that’s felt once you walk in. The atmosphere is very friendly and laid-back. Everyone is greeted with a smile and after a chit-chat with some of the staff, you get the feeling that your day will get sweeter as it passes.

Love at First Taste
Honestly, one visit will have you hooked! I visited 2 times in one week and I was overcome with temptation. All the goodies glared at me through their display case, and I fell head-over-heels in love.

The menu contains sandwiches, salads, desserts, and gourmet hot/cold beverages. Jenny offers a delicious cookie sample every day, so be sure to look for the sample plate on top the cupcake display when you visit.

My first experience was a taste of the Special Pecan Tart and Chocolate Caramel Mocha. The pecan tart is made with toasted pecans and sweet caramel filling surrounded by a flaky buttery crust. The mocha was so divine, and made special to order-topped with a mountain of whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and chopped cocoa. Starbucks is now a thing of the past for me…

Jenny is super excited to be in the neighborhood, and her hope is that everyone in Central California will soon discover the sweetness that comes from the bakery. Be sure to stop by for lunch or just a quick pick-me-up at the end of your day. You will not be disappointed!

BooBoo Bean Bakery and Cafe is located at the southwest corner of Bullard/West. It’s open Monday-Saturday 6 AM – 3 PM and closed on Sundays.
