About Break the Barriers
Almost 36 years ago, Break the Barriers (BTB) was established to celebrate awareness and victories of all abilities and disabilities. This organization educates the community in artistic expression, performing arts, and most important, it breaks barriers between people and groups by fulfilling acceptance and human interaction. Break the Barriers has made a significant impact locally and globally, and it has been recognized by the US Department of Education as a National Role Model for Inclusion.

How to Get Involved
On November 17, the performing arts division of BTB will host its annual production of A Nutcracker Like No Other. This year’s production will feature disabled veterans, giving them an opportunity to participate in the creative process and crew membership. Good News! The Guarantee Good Will Network has become one of the community sponsors of Break the Barriers. The $1,500 donation will help sponsor the organization’s annual fundraising Masquerade Ball and help sustain many of their education programs.

About Break the Barriers

Break the Barriers is committed to celebrating awareness and victories of ALL abilities, ethnic back grounds, and ages through exceptional programs, outreach and inclusion education. The organization’s vision is to maintain and improve inclusive programs through ability awareness. Their outreach programs include education through performances, assemblies, conferences, workshops, and clinics. The organization’s main objective is to demonstrate that barriers can be broken, and this is achieved through their promotion of integrated sports, performing arts, aquatics, and health and fitness programs.

The community is encouraged to “reach out” and volunteer for a variety of activities at Break the Barriers. Guarantee Good Will Network Donates $76,500

Guarantee Real Estate along with its agents and employees combined their efforts and resources to donate over $76,500 to local non-profits in 2015.  The Guarantee Good Will Network (GGWN) charitable giving fund supports local organizations that provide safe shelter to people when they are in a time of need.  The Network also contributes to non-profits that offer services and facilities that are available to everyone in the community and make the Central Valley a more enjoyable place to live.  Since inception, the GGWN has contributed over $384,000 to local non-profits.

The vision of Break the Barriers (BTB)is to allow children and adults, regardless of mental or physical handicaps, to participate together in sports and arts where they have the opportunity to celebrate all levels of victories and achievements.  Having started in a backyard, BTB now provides gymnastics, swim, martial arts, dance, archery, & sign lessons to more than 3,000 students each week in their 32,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility.

Break the Barriers also provides training for Disabled American Veterans at no cost.  BTB offers disabled vets classesin archery, Tae Kwan Do, tennis and wheelchair tennis, swimming, weightlifting, basketball and wheelchair basketball, table tennis, track and field, exercise and water fitness.

Their mission is to demonstrate Inclusion through Ability Awareness Outreach & Education performances and presentations. They recognize the gifts and talents of people with various abilities.  Their performances have softened the hearts of audiences and generated hope for all people.

Break the Barriers Accepts Guarantee Good Will Network Donation

Break the Barriers Founders, Deby & Steve Hergenrader, recently met with Guarantee Good Will Network representatives to accept a $1,000 donation.
Break the Barriers provides gymnastics, swim, taekwondo, and dance programs to children of all abilities regardless of mental or physical handicaps.  Students attend inclusive sports and performing arts classes that allow instructors the opportunity to match the gifts and talents of each student and to encourage them to reach their full potential.  Students begin to develop an awareness of their talents while developing a sense of purpose, compassion and respect for one another.
